Aluminum twist shifter for Rohloff® Speedhub version 2
Aluminum twist shifter for Rohloff® Speedhub version 2
- 100% compatible shift/twist grip for the Speedhub hub for right-hand mounting on the handlebar
- high-quality CNC-turned & -milled and shot blasted for a shiny metallic look with bright, UV-resistant anodizing
- Large lasered numbers make it easier to read the gear engaged
- knurled surface where it comes into contact with your hands increases the grip on the twist grip
- a sliding bushing ensures little resistance when shifting and is more durable while reducing wear
- particularly durable: compared to the original, rubberized twist grip, this twist grip has no significant wear - even after years of use, while the original rubber grip needs to be replaced after just a few months of intensive use. That's sustainability!
- Simplest installation: remove the old handle - install the new one. No other parts required for the conversion - fully compatible without any further modifications/adaptations
- Developed and manufactured in Austria
- Scope of delivery: 1 twist grip as shown in various colors. The picture with the black twist grip shows this mounted on the shift handle, which is not included.
Good quality machining but for this price I had expected the gear-numbers to be engraved in the knob instead of printed on it as I fear the printed numbers will wear off in time.
Gear numbers are lasered onto the surface of the grip. Not printed. So there is no risk wearing off in time.
The shifter is very well built however I find it too slippery. The small ridges do nothing to increase my grip. I have wrapped it it self vulcanizing tape and that has made it much better. If it was a solid round shape with diamond knurling over the entire circumference (like the Co-Motion shifters) I think it would be better.
Thanks for your review first.
Our 1st version of this shifter had a diamond knurl and and this led to chafed gloves, as customers told us. Particularly in the area between the thumb and index finger, the knurl chafed the glove until a hole appeared. This should be avoided of course.
So the knurl was revsised this 2nd version of the grip: it became smoother beside the fact, that the type was also changed.
